I’m Olivia Hayfield*, author of modern retellings of historical tales.

I live in the beautiful subtropical city of Auckland, New Zealand, where you’re never more than ten minutes from a beach. Great reason to live here, and the perfect place to bring up a family, I thought, when I moved here with my husband. But I miss England – quite a lot. So I visit the homeland as often as I can … at least, I did until 2020 was unleashed!

Katherine Hayton - rom myst
I like to write mysteries, some set in my hometown of Christchurch, others ninety minutes up the road in the beautiful township of Hanmer Springs, or in the quasi-fictional town of Pinetar. These mysteries range from hard-hitting psychological thrillers, through to police procedurals, or the lighter adventure of a cozy mystery. - Katherine Hayton
Dave Hayward
Dave Hayward
Now in his seventies, Dave Hayward was born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand. He joined the army at sixteen and at twenty was a corporal commanding a section of Infantry in Malaya during the 'Emergency'. His first novel Point Of The Spear is based on that experience. Dave remained a soldier for thirty-three years and saw active service again in Borneo during Indonesia's 'Confrontation' with Malaysia and, for a third time, in South Vietnam. This latter experience is the basis for his second novel, Danger Close. He finally retired as the Sergeant Major of the Army - the ultimate senior soldier appointment.
Dave next turned his attention to the New Zealand Wars. His trilogy of novels, Redcoat & Korowai, War and The Last Rangatira, are out there and selling well. His latest novel, Horse Soldiers, is based on New Zealand's involvement in the Boer War. Dave now lives quietly in Feilding; when not off on 4WD treks, cycle trails, wine trails, army reunions or family occasions, that is. - NZSA
