Make a Change:

Pins

There is a long history of protest pins. They were meant to show people that they supported an idea. By the end of this, you should have designed a pin for your protest. If you did the poster, infographic or pamphlet; you can use them to go towards a portfolio board in visual arts.

It is easier to create a button shape for a pin so you should start with a circle but if you want to go with a different shape then I suggest printing with these people.

Brainstorm ideas and come up with some sketches. Keep in mind the design principles.

Get some feedback and make changes to the button/pin you will make. Put it into a vector so you can scale it and use it with commercial printers.

There are different options for printing up your final design. I recommend Zazzle and Redbubble. They are based in Australia or with a sister company close by so they can print one item or a dozen fairly quickly. You'll notice that these places do stickers and t-shirts and other items. If you want you can convert your pin to suit other mediums and print those as well.

I've done another lesson on making swag which relates to this as well.
