Transformers
Transformers is a block buster movie series and they use everything in its arsenal to sell those movies. Fortunately using such a blunt instrument does make some of the story telling tools very obvious so that is one of the reasons why I like to use Transformers and the other movies in the franchise to demonstrate some of the big ideas in story telling.
Both the first and second movie use the hero's journey.
And this must be true of other teachers as there are quite a few of these prezi presentations about the hero's journey in the movie.
One of the core things of the Heroes Journey is the archetypes. and the chaos of his story telling is on purpose. Vox explains that very well.
