Since Disney+ has Hamilton on its list I thought I would do a lesson on it. This is for the exam at either level 2 or 3 but I will be focussing on the skills you will need for 91518 level 3 Drama external.

It kind of all started when I saw this awesome video on the motifs in Hamilton.

Write a response to all of these questions

1. Who was the Playwright?

2. Which Theatre company /ensemble performed the play?

3. Consider a moment of tension in the play - Explain how the use of technology enhanced a key moment of tension in the performance. Give specific details from the performance to support your answer. You may sketch and make detailed annotations in the space on page 4 to support your answer.

4. Discuss the effect of this use of technology at this key moment. You could consider, for example: • revelations about the situation or the consequences • the director’s and/or designer’s intentions • how it prompted you to think about challenges in today’s society.

9. Explain how the actor used drama techniques to show a significant change in the character. Give specific details from the performance to support your answer.

10. Discuss the impact of this character change. You could consider, for example: • the response of other characters to the way the character changed • lessons learned by the character • the audience’s understanding of a key idea
